Brown Invitational Spring 2023
UMCS took 35 swimmers on a day-trip to compete at Brown University this Sunday, February 26th. The team was up, bright and early, to drive almost 2 hours to Providence, Rhode Island. With many members hopeful to qualify for CCS Nationals at the end of March, swimmers suited up in their tech suits and prepared for a day of intense competition against Northeastern, UConn, Brown, Boston College, URI, Tufts, UVM, Providence College, and Yale.
The Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center is a relatively new pool and our team was eager to compete in a nice facility. UMass took 4th place overall out of the 10 teams at the meet with 457.5 points. At least five swimmers qualified for CCS Nationals, their hard work in the pool paying off during their races! The results are in the PDF below. One of our members, David Del Rio, celebrated a birthday at the meet, a feat which members took every chance to commemorate. We are so proud of every UMCS member who competed this weekend!
After the meet, swimmers grabbed a bite to eat in the Providence area and returned back to the Flagship of the Commonwealth with time to spare for their Sunday evening.
